West Muskingum Local Schools has a new elementary school complete with a custom designed play space by Snider Recreation! This design was FUN from the beginning! The large area gave Snider Recreation the ability to install two age specific play structures, lots of swings, and a sports area. Climbing, sliding, swinging and playing will bring laughter and so many benefits to the students. Exercise is crucial to both physical and cognitive development and the students will get plenty of it with this play space!

The age-appropriate playgrounds begin with a structure designed for 4-5 year-olds that has a Loop Rung Ladder, Double Rail Slide, and a Horizontal Overhead Climber. The students can even chat with a friend on the other side of the structure with the FUN Phone. The structure is surrounded with different activity panels, like tic-tac-toe and the chimes panel.

The structure for 5-12 year-olds is an Intensity design to get the students active in their FUN. The climbing adventure will take shape with the Wild Web Rope Climber, Dynamic Discs, Limber Ladder Rope Climber, and the Trigon Arch Double Climber. The students will be reaching new heights as they maneuver over, around and through the climbers!

Located between the two structures are two series of swings complete with a rubber mulch playground surface. Swings are a staple on a school playground. They help children develop coordination and balance while providing an engaging sensory experience.

Sports Equipment was added into the large open space. Two Funnel Ball and Tetherball Poles were installed. These games provide hours of entertainment for children of all ages. Last but not least two Basketball Hoops were installed. What better way to spend recess then in a game of Around the World or H-O-R-S-E?

Site furnishings, like benches and tables, were also installed for the convenience of recess aides, teachers and parents as they watch over playtime.

The students will have so much FUN on this new playground equipment, they won’t even know they are exercising!
