Snider Recreation designed a new playground for North Spenser Schools’ Nancy Hanks Elementary. The structure has the students on the move and has a capacity for over 100 students.
The structure is bookended with slides. On one end you will find the Double Viper Slide that’s filled with twists and turns, the other end you will find a Swift Glider. Whether you’re shimming your way up, or gliding down the skinny slide, the students will be on the move! The slides are joined together by climbers and overhead equipment that will challenge the students balance, strength and motor skills. For the students who like to spin, there are 2 Fierce Cyclone Spinners attached to the structure!
Snider Recreation loves bringing the FUN into recess by installing play equipment for schools! Students always love recess, but with this new play structure, their Fun just got a whole lot more active!
Climbers provide several developmental benefits to children, building upper body strength along with boosting balance and coordination while they play.
Snider Recreation went to the design board again for Rochester Community Schools. This time it was for a new school playground for Hamlin Elementary. The design that Snider Recreation presented was one that would get the students on the move to having FUN! It also has them stepping out and using Burke Turf for the first time at one of their schools!
Let’s not forget to highlight the play structure, which is age-appropriate for the children. It has a Double Spiral Viper Slide for the students to race down and an 8’ Expedition Climber for the students to reach new heights! Other climbers on and around the school playground are the Power Peak, Leaf and Verto climbers.
A playground isn’t complete without spinning and swinging! For those who like to twirl the design brought in the ever popular Comet Spinner which is great for spinning alone or with friends! Along with the long bays of swings the students will be flying through recess!
Snider Recreation enjoys bringing smiles to the students at Rochester Community Schools with each installation we do. Whether it is a whole new playground, installing playground surfacing or adding in freestanding equipment, Snider leaves FUN behind!
Salvation Army Cleveland Temple Corp – Cleveland, OH
Snider Recreation has a FUN relationship with the Salvation Army in Northeast Ohio. The Salvation Army Temple Corps in Cleveland works to lift at-risk families, giving them physical & emotional support. Cleveland Temple Corps recognizes the benefit of play for the youth that they are working with. Jeff Snider gave them a few outdoor play structure designs to consider, recommending two different age-appropriate play structures so there is safe play for 2-5 and 5-12 year-olds. Having age specific playgrounds creates space where children can learn and grow together.
The structure for the Early Childhood Area is complete with 2 slides, 3 climbers, 5 activity panels and a shaker roof. These pieces help develop gross motor, cognitive and social skills.
The School Aged Area pulls in both Intensity and Nucleus components. This gives the older kids a blend of traditional and fitness-based equipment. They will get a workout while having FUN and developing balance, coordination, strength and self esteem.
A playground doesn’t seem complete without a few bays of swings. The children at Cleveland Temple Corps will be able to swing their cares away as well. The design they chose brings in 4 swings for the older kids and 2 tot swings.
Snider Recreation also installed benches so the families can gather together and build relationships while watching their children enjoy some FUN!
Playground installations are always are always enjoyable projects, but it is even better when helping such a wonderful organization.

Miami Township wanted a playground at Miami Meadows Park that would be for everyone. Snider Recreation designed and installed a playground that brought in age appropriate structures and freestanding equipment. Jeff Snider kept the goal in mind to make this a playground not just accessible but also inclusive! Jeff incorporated play equipment that addressed the physical, emotional and social needs of every child. The overall design incorporated inclusiveness throughout with a variety of equipment to open a life of play to children with all abilities.
At the front of each structure is a Welcome Sign showing the appropriate age the equipment is designed for. The younger structure, designed for 2-5 year olds has a balcony, ramps and bridges. The structure pulls in leaf climbers, a rock crawl climber, and a pod walk. Three different Slides surround the structure. And activity panels are scattered below, around and throughout. There is a wall of activity panels located under a canopy where you will find imagination in full swing!
The all-inclusive playground for 5-12 year olds brings in many climbers. Including the popular Twist n’ Turn and Tree climbers. The slides are faster and bring a twist! This one has Viper Slides, Spiral Slide, and a Double Poly Wave!
Free standing equipment includes a Rockit Tunnel, Kidforce Spinner, Orbitron and the Cruiser. The Cruiser has enough room for two wheelchairs and two full benches, which allows up to 12 children of all abilities to play together. There are long bays of swings which include toddler seats and the Freedom Seats along with belt swings.
One thing is for sure, the play space at Miami Meadows has something for everyone, even the child at heart!

The custom design provides a safe environment that is aesthetically pleasing, full of fun for all users.
The structure brings an Amped Climber to build coordination and strength, a Double Rail Slide and 3 Rock ’n Roll Slides to race down! Students have activity panels that help them to get creative and use their imaginations in their play!

West Muskingum Local Schools has a new elementary school complete with a custom designed play space by Snider Recreation! This design was FUN from the beginning! The large area gave Snider Recreation the ability to install two age specific play structures, lots of swings, and a sports area. Climbing, sliding, swinging and playing will bring laughter and so many benefits to the students. Exercise is crucial to both physical and cognitive development and the students will get plenty of it with this play space!
The age-appropriate playgrounds begin with a structure designed for 4-5 year-olds that has a Loop Rung Ladder, Double Rail Slide, and a Horizontal Overhead Climber. The students can even chat with a friend on the other side of the structure with the FUN Phone. The structure is surrounded with different activity panels, like tic-tac-toe and the chimes panel.
The structure for 5-12 year-olds is an Intensity design to get the students active in their FUN. The climbing adventure will take shape with the Wild Web Rope Climber, Dynamic Discs, Limber Ladder Rope Climber, and the Trigon Arch Double Climber. The students will be reaching new heights as they maneuver over, around and through the climbers!
Located between the two structures are two series of swings complete with a rubber mulch playground surface. Swings are a staple on a school playground. They help children develop coordination and balance while providing an engaging sensory experience.
Sports Equipment was added into the large open space. Two Funnel Ball and Tetherball Poles were installed. These games provide hours of entertainment for children of all ages. Last but not least two Basketball Hoops were installed. What better way to spend recess then in a game of Around the World or H-O-R-S-E?
Site furnishings, like benches and tables, were also installed for the convenience of recess aides, teachers and parents as they watch over playtime.
The students will have so much FUN on this new playground equipment, they won’t even know they are exercising!
Wayne Trace Local Schools wanted to add some new equipment to their playground at Payne Elementary. Snider Recreation came in and got on the move to creating a design that would have the students smiling! Payne Elementary got moving with their application for a KaBoom Playground Grant and volunteers were on the move for the supervised community installation. The students are on the move everyday at recess! Talk about Play that Moves!
Kids love to climb and spin, and Snider Recreation loves to make kids happy! For Payne Elementary we brought in climbers, and lots of them! Climbers challenge the students to reach higher, use their imaginations and increase their strength, endurance and stamina. The Triple Verto climbers, Satellite Walk, and Plexus give unlimited adventures! The Comet and Kid Force Spinners add the twist of excitement that kids desire.
While the balance beam helps students with their core strength it is also a place for imagination and challenges. Can you walk the plank? What about backwards? Will you touch the lava, or be attacked by sharks? The games are only limited to the students imagination!
When all the moving has them feeling a little tired, or if they need a place to sit with a friend, the new tire swing is the place they will be. Swings are always a favorite on any playground, but when you can swing with a friend, life doesn’t get any better!
Snider Recreation loves the opportunity to put their mark on the commercial playgrounds in the Ohio region. Meeting new people in the communities and assisting with the playground grant process, makes for fun days at work!

Here at Snider Recreation, we believe in the importance of play for all ages and abilities. That is why we are proud to assist organizations with all-inclusive playgrounds and acquiring playground grants. According to Action for Healthy Kids, “Recess allows children to release energy and reduce stress which also may improve attention and reduce disruptive behavior in the classroom”.
The design chosen by Grant Elementary has their students spinning, sliding, and climbing their way to play! The play structure brings slides and lots of them – the Triple Viper, Double Poly Wave, and a Spiral Slide. Also designed into the structure are activity panels and a Fierce Cyclone Spinner. Climbing mountains bring the structure to life along with the Rock, Tangle, Power Pipes, Rockit, Centipede, and Wiggle Ladder Climbers. Sitting a safe distance away from the main structure is a climbing “mountain” for those who want to keep their feet off the ground! To add a little more air to the playground, the new Volito swing was added alongside the existing bays of swings.
In 2014 the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation began the process of designing a new playground for their Lillian Schmitt Elementary School in Columbus, Indiana. Snider Recreation came alongside and helped them design a playground that would get their students on the move!
The school worked on obtaining playground grants that would help in the cost of the equipment. Snider Recreation worked to design a playground that would be installed in phases, to defer costs into different fiscal budgets.
Our team started with Phase One of the playground improvement in the spring of 2015. This phase added freestanding spinners, the Comet and Swift Twist. Along with a play structure designed for building healthy, active kids! This unit included agility equipment such as the Twisting Traverse, Agility Arc and Healthy Hammock. It added the overhead Horizontal Ladder so the students can swing their way to building arm strength, a Swift Glider to quickly slide away and the ever popular Extreme Cyclone Spinner.
Phase Two began in 2016 with the removal of the old playground structure and the installation of the new structure. This Phase brought the slides! You will find the students racing down the Triple Viper slides and bumping down the Rock ‘n Roll slide during outdoor time. This structure is tied into the Phase One structure with an Amped Link climber. The students love climbing new heights on the Steep Peak climber and hanging out on the Balcony. One thing is for sure; the students are starting to wonder what Phase Three of the new school playground will bring, but this is where the story will be continued…
